Virus Warning from Michael Leete

 Hello Gassers,

To warn you I have recieved viruses in e-mails from Pete (Allen Trial) Hart and John (Falcon Motor Club) Prestage.

Follow this link to find out the details of the virus

The virus is called W32.badtrans Neither Pete or John will know they have the virus, their computer is sending out the mails automatically. So if they have your name in their address book you are vunerable.

You can tell the mails have the virus because they contain an attachment with two suffix's eg "XXXXXX.mp3.scr"

Also if you look at the return address it is prefaced with an underscore eg   _Peter etc etc

I am trying to contact both Pete and John by phone to tell them.

Michael

Tyred out

Anyone who uses either Colway or Motorway remould tyres would be well advised to stock up now (if they can any stock) as their parent company (Environmental Waste Solutions) has gone into receivership and production of tyres at both companies has ceased.

This is particularly bad news for "club" rallying as many competitors have been using the economic Colway brand for years.

It was well known that the company had been struggling for some time. In particular it was having trouble in being competitive against cheap Eastern European and Asian imports. The UK appears to be a bit of a dumping ground, we're apparently less fussy about the tyres we use than most other countries.

Founders Night

I went to the one in Cambridge organised by John Groves. There were 22 at the table and we duly saluted the club at 9pm. There were some fantastic stories told, photographs to look at and even a 1928 triple.

More later.
