MCC Classic Trials route cards

John Aley would like anyone interested in getting a copy by e-mail so that they can format ihe route card to suit their holder, ot whatever, to e-mail him asap.  See below and http://www.ukmotorsport.com/mcc/MCC_news_of_the_week.htm .

ROUTE CARDS Quite how motorcyclists manage to read and follow a route card, especially in the dark, will ever be one of the greater MCC mysteries. We know that many riders copy the printed word into a different format and use one of these clever roller devices just as "Jenks" did in the 1955 Mille Miglia. Several riders have suggested that this would be easier if the route card were published in electronic mail form and the committee is giving some thought to how this could be done. For obvious reasons the actual route should not be too widely available to non competitors as we know there are those out there who would like to stop us enjoying ourselves and a knowledge of the route would be a godsend to them.

One possible solution would be to have the route available for transmission by E Mail to anyone who is competing and applies to the address at the heading of this page after he receives his final instructions. It would then be E Mailed by return. If you would be interested in this service would you please send an E Mail to this address NOW saying so; we can then gauge whether the extra work involved would be worth while.

Brooklands on 5th.May

The Gas site seems to have been very quiet for the past few weeks, perhaps like me you have had trouble getting logged in.
I am off to Brooklands with my Troll on Sunday for the MCC/MAC 100 years get together. Hope to meet some other 'Gassers' there.

Get a Firewall to guard against a new threat

Hi everyone,

I recently installed a (free) Firewall on my PC at home to guard against raids on my computer while connected to the net. I did this after getting a Trojan Horse virus on the day jobs laptop.

This prompted me to worry about the Classical Gas machine in the dinning room. I read an article in a magazine about a free software firewall called Zone Alarm.

I downloaded and installed it and it works. It's quite frigtening to see the warnings come up when another computer tries to break into my system and Zone Alarm blocks it.

You can find out more information and download the free version at http://www.zonelabs.com/products/za/index.html

I would advise everyone to look at this.
