ACTC Awards Dinner

I have pictures available of all award winners as well as several groups of people in the bar beforehand.

If anyone wants a print I can produce them at very reasonable rates.  If you are interested please drop me a mail at pbpclovermead@tinyworld.co.uk and I will sort you out.  The more people who want prints, the cheaper they will be!

classicford show

Just got back from santapod raceway brilliant show. I may be corrected but, I believe that I was probably the first trials car to go up the strip! Pulling what I feel was a respectable time of 17.024 and 76.41 mph over the 1/4 mile.  Also, there was a grass auto test where my poor Escort was triple (!) driven.  The inevitable happened and Paul Bartleman beat me by a whisper (IN MY CAR!) to win over all and was awarded for his success with a handshake by Tony Mason.  All said and done a grand day out Gromit!.

Maxey Classic Car Show - August 12th

For all those petrol heads out there in Trials Land, who may be planning their itinery for the coming months, now seems an ideal time to remind you of a very friendly Classic Car Show in an idylic lakeside location,  Maxey, which is a small village, to the north of Peterborough is holding it's 6th annual show.  Last year there were three Falcon members present, yours truly with his wares, brother Ed with his award winning Singer Chamois and Ted had his RAFA stall and that excellent Austin Ten raffle prize which I didn't win.  To date I have not seen a Trials Car at the show so you could be the first!

Ilkley Trial 06

had a good Ilkley Trial...even if somewhat handicapped by a general tyre pressure limit of 15psi....even for me in class 4....the results may well have been different if I had blagged a few less psi's at the appropriate times.....very wet trial..lots of grass to spin wheels on....pity we had to run the same pressures as class 7 and 8..

hilite of our day (with wife and 7 year old son as ballast) was a rousing clean of Watergate..(the Scapheap challenge hill).....nodoubt inspired by Robin Preedy's efforts as he was immediately in front......not many cleaned this hill, a lot getting to the 1 board but no quite conquering the twist in the tail left hander.....came away with a score of 103...again a reasonable score in the circumstances....

since there were only 2 of us in class 4....there were no class awards....pity we weren't amalgamated into other classes....???

also...no breakages.....either I'm getting old and soft-footed..or the Rapid is getting stronger??

nice (free) pork pie 'n pea's supper at the end...very welcome in view of the wetness....thank you Ilkley Club.....
