Tiff Needell wants to do the Ilkley Trial for 5th Gear

But is there anyone out there who is prepared to lend him and Jonny Smith a car?
If you are then contact me asap  e-mail simonwoodall@actc.org.uk

It doesn't matter what it is so long as (after last year's debacle) its a sensible trials car.

Lands End Results - A Boards on Cutliffe Lane

Perhaps I had never understood this before but it appears if you failed below the A Boards you were penalised twice. Once for not reaching the A Boards and a second time for not getting to the end. Is this the ways its always been and I haven't noticed it before?

6th Bovey Down single venue clubsport classic trial Sunday 25th April

Hello again.  The organising team for the 6th Windwhistle Motor Club single venue clubsport classic trial on Sunday 25th April in the woods at Bovey Down near Seaton Devon made a site visit to the venue on Saturday and all is looking good.  We have plenty of ideas to spice the event up a bit and make some changes so as there are a few places left and the closing date is this Saturday 17th April dont leave it too late to get your entry in.  Normans Hump and Clinton, 3 times, in the daylight, plus one or two wiggly ones in and out of the trees and may be the benefit of some mobile rainfall during the day is all adding up to a lot of fun in the trying out of different tyre pressures, restart techniques, throttle control, etc. Sid Vale Carnival Club catering tent on site all day and portaloo on site.  Entries to Anne Whellock 01460 53645.  anne.whellock@btconnect.com  Marshals volunteer please to Anna Robinson david@robinson2x.plus.com

FOR SALE Class 7 BAJA

Hi,
I have got a class 7 baja for sale. I have used the car for various events, one day and over nights. The car is very reliable and has always got us back with no problems.

It has got a 2.0ltr type 4 engine complete with a twin progressive webber carb.
It is 1969 so tax exempt
1 year MOT

The car is fully trials prepared and has lots of various parts with it. I would like it to go to another person involved in classic trials.

If you are interested please call for a full spec and information. I will be adding some photos shortly or i can send by email

a lot of time has been put into the car and i am very disappointed to have to sell it

Car 137 on Bishops Wood, Lands End Trial 2010.

I thought I'd post this rather nice clip here. Its car 137 being thrown up Bishops Wood by Brian Hampson.
I've put a few clips up on Youtube and will add more over the next week.
You'll find them here:

How was your Lands End?

I thought it was a tough one, challenging, fair but tough.

We experieced all sorts of weather. Sun on the way to Popham, a clear sky on the route to Bridgewater, some snow remaining under the hedges across Exmoor, persistent rain after lunch, clearing as we arrived at the finish.

We started the sections in good mood when we saw a generous restart box on Fellons Oak. It was pretty muddy though, especially the exit track, pointing to the conditions for the rest of the trial.

We were defeated by Rodneys Revenge and Cutliffe Lane. More momentum next time? No restarts on either Beggars or Daracott, be nice to know more about the thinking there as it left them pretty un-competitive.

Crackington, what a buzz and very knowledgable spectators. Blue Hills was a real sting in the tail. We saw quite a few failures on 1 and were delighted when we didn't join them. Suffered the indignity of the winch on 2 when I made a bad choice on pressures. The engine bogged down and I couln't get it back. Understand the bit after the restart was "challenging"

How was your Lands End ?
