Hi
Does anybody know what the Burlington Arrow is? Maybe have a picture?
Why was it excluded at Tintinhull?
As an aside we receive Provisional Result but not Final Results. Is there a reason? Probably time I assume! But it would be nice to know.
Mark
Mark, First well done on your Silver. I guess the reason for the results being provisional is that it gives us the opportunity to discuss them if they are wrong. For example Fred Gregory is down as having done the wrong first hill. But thats because they are showing him in thw wrong car. When he contacts the organiswers they will put that right. They can'y change things when the results become final. On something like a PCT the provisional results are put up for all to see. Then you have 30 minutes to challenge them before the are final. It's not possible to do that system on an MCC event because everything is spread about so much in distance and time. The Burlington Arrow is a kit car, but the one on the Exeter was very strange. I didn't actually realise it was excluded. Michael
ReplyDeleteMike is quite right, the Burlington is a kitcar, originally constructed from a set of plans on a Triumph chassis, although their own chassis was eventually produced. The one on the Exeter used to have the Triumph straight six in it, a super engine but rather heavy. It seems to have had a V8 for Christmas but the silencing wasn't up to much and the scrutineer refused to pass it. I wasn't their but apparently it made the scrutineering bay shake! Mike Furse
ReplyDeleteThankyou you both! Must be galling to be turned away at Tintinhull. Just goes to prove there is more to this game than horsepower... Mark
ReplyDeleteYes, there is more to this game than horsepower, thank goodness! One of the fundamental things is to make sure that your vehicle is reasonably scrutineer-proof! Mike Furse.
