How to stop all that terrible Hotmail Spam.

I am sure many of you have given up Hotmail because of all that terrible Spam. Well Mr Microsoft has upgraded Hotmail and by tuning a couple of settings you can stop the Spam. Yes really.

1. Log on to Hotmail.

2. Go to OPTIONS

3. Go to MAIL HANDLING then JUNK MAIL FILTER

4. Set the Filter to HIGH.

5.Go back to OPTIONS

6. MAIL HANDLING then JUNK MAIL DELETION

7. Set to IMMEDIATE DELETION.

8. Then go back to your INBOX and clear out all the old Spam.

It works for me.

  1. Very sound advice but I would recommend that you don't set to automatic deletion until you have been using it for a maybe a month. Instead let the mail go to your Junk mail box and check it for a while. I found that sometimes it will put an email from someone that I converse with in there. You will then need to go into your options and set their address in the 'safe list'. Once your are certain that you have 'caught' all your friends then you can safely set the automatic deletion.
