Fell Sides Northern Classic Trial

Can I extend many thanks to all the competitors on our trial today and hope that you all had an enjoyable and competitive trial. The recent damp weather certainly appears to have had a benificial effect on the nature of some of the sections.
In addition to the entrants, I would also like to thank the many marshals and officials that made the day such an apparent success. I know from the brief feedback from the organising team at the end that we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I even managed a bit of a blast myself at Sandale after the last car. Awsome!!!
As with any other trial, I am sure we would value any feedback received.

Windwhistle Trial

All you classic trialists who did not go to this event today missed a treat.   Tim Whellock and his team organized a cracking event in the woods surrounding Clinton and Normans Hump.   22 classic hills and 2 special tests, slick organization and rain 2 hours before the trial but not during it.

My March Hare Trial

I drove my newly acquired Dellow on its first road trial. After all the problems on the Southern Autos PCT the main challenge was just to get round the route and hopefully have a go at some of the hills! We were successful, tackled all the hills and even got up some of them! The car ran quite well all things considered and I put most of the PCT problems down to a high under-bonnet temperature. I tried to avoid this on The March Hare by switching the engine off at every opportunity.

We had every sort of weather, sun, rain hail and snow but I am a convert to open air motoring! I won't be venturing too far away from home for a while yet as I don't fit into it so its the Beetle for the Lands End.

I thought the route and sections on The March Hare were really enjoyable and the organisers made good use of restarts to give us supermen in class eight something to think about! The climbs of the day were definately at Kensworth where the only cars to reach the top of the first section were one of the Trojans who trickled and Ian Davis and Andy Curtis in their buggies who blasted!

How was your March Hare?

eBay Supercharger.

I am not quite sure, but it looks like there is a complete C75B Shorrocks supercharger kit for what looks like a single or dual port Beetle engine on eBay until the 9th.

PS there are also a shed load of Mini Cooper S M45 superchargers also.

Presidents Trial - 28th March 2004

After a 12 year absence, the Presidents Trial made a successful comeback in 2003. There have been a couple of route changes since last year with the addition of some new, previously unused classic lanes. Once again, no Forestry land is being used. The event is open to members of the MCC, Stroud & Dist, Holsworthy, Launceston & NC and Ross & Dist Motor Clubs.

Please note the date of the event is SUNDAY 28th MARCH and not as per some calendars.

There is a late start time of 10am to help those that I know are competing on the Fellside Trial on the Saturday and are coming back for the Presidents on the Sunday.

If you fancy competing in a traditional classic trial in Cornwall please contact me for more details.
