ReplyDeleteI see from the Entry List on Micheal Leete's site that there are two Suzuki X90's entered. Although down as Class 3, surely these cars are class 5 machines? Class 3 is for "Production Saloons...." and whilst these cars may have fixed roofs, they are not slaoons as they do not have seats for "four normal sized adults in comfort". (MSA Definition). Their place is surely Class 5 because (a) that class relies on the vague defintion of a "sports car" which as two seaters these machines might be, and (b) if any class needed bolstering by the addition of new machinery, it is class 5.

Interesting point. I have seen Ian's car on PCT's a few times and I believe Howard (who also has a Leige) does PCT's too. Both were entered on The Exeter. Howards in Class 3 where it wasn't reclassified and appears in the results in Class 3. Ian did Class 0 on both Exeter and Clee. Could be good to discuss with the guys and see what they think. A counter argument to Simon's is that they look more like a saloon than a sports car. Then maybe they look even more like a 2 seater 4WD. They are certainly unique! The good think is they seem to be one of the few modern cars suitable for trials. Michael
