Reigning MSA British Sporting Trial Champion Duncan Stephens sealed the 2010 MSA British Car Trial Championship with second place in the HCC Wales Trial.
Stephens’ success makes him the first person to win MSA Championships in two separate Trial disciplines in consecutive years, as well as the first to hold two simultaneously.
“Without hard team work and the passenger skills of Jade Bray I’m convinced that I wouldn’t have won the championship,” said Stephens. “Becoming the first person to take back-to-back titles in different Trial disciplines means more than winning either individually.”
Stephens took up Car Trials in 1995, aged 15, and in 2002 became the MSA British Car Trial Vice-Champion. He then switched to the MSA British Sporting Trial Championship and, having twice been runner-up, duly claimed the crown last season. He earned this year’s Car Trial title with two rounds to spare.
