looking for some thing older really ... had a look at a mk2 Dellow in wales feel he wants top dollar for it but its not 100% lots of little niggly things really but for 9k it should be spot on i think.
i dont mind really .... Shame about the one in wales .... was SEH666 but has lost its number has no hood ... no front dampers ,, rear dampers shot ,,, no wipers or motors, rear wings have has the gap filled rather than a rubber strip + lots of other little things that need sorting ... plus side is its got all the aquaplain bits but i value it nearer 5 .
If you are looking for a Dellow to go trialling I would always go for one with the more modern axle conversion. Period replacements for things like front shck absorbers don't come cheap either and the figure you were quoted for the Welsh one seems a bit steep. Speak to the Dellow Register about Dellows, someone might know of one that is available.
IMHO, and I am sure Robin agrees, a sidevalve Dellow with Ford Pop axle is not strongh enoug, or competitive, for ACTC events. The axle is the week link and if you upgrade it you go into class 8. Yes Julian D suceeded but he is the only one. I enjoy my sidevalve Dellow (the green one) but it is very much reserved for class 0 on the Edinburgh and a few gentle local trials.
looks fantastic & has a price tag to match ......still looking ...the yorkshire cannon has been in the garage for 20+yrs is still an option would prefer a Dellow ...... so how much for your red Dellow mr Leete???
sorry but im marshaling on the edinburgh will see if i can find you a passenger..... (i been involved in calssic trials all my life so know what sort of thing im looking for)
I reckon a Tempest with a Midget engine would be Class 8 Lee. Not sure how competitive that would be. Correction I am sure and the answers it wouldn't be!
Dellows do come up, but they are like a London Bus. None for a while then all at once. When they do you will generally find them on the Dellow Register Site http://www.dellowregister.co.uk/dellow_Sales.htm
