Non Starter for No's 85 and 257

Happy New Year to all,

Bad news unfortunately, our entry no:257 Singer, and Tim Short/Ian Blackburn no:85 Singer for the Exeter Trial 2001 are already looking like non starters.  Ian had to go into hospital a couple of weeks ago and was unable to finish his and our car preparations for the Exeter.  I understand he is mending slowly so we will have to leave it to the Lands End before we get the chance to trial the cars on an M.C.C. event, maybe we might even have a Singer team by then.

I will try and get some pics of the Classic Gasser's on Simms probably so say cheese as you go past

FWD Kit Cars

Would be interested in your thoughts regarding which class seems appropriate for these cars. Strictly "blue book" speaking they would run in class 7 but would stand little chance of any great success. On the otherhand I'm not sure that class 1 is appropriate either as they (may?) have a significant weight advantage over others.

As the availability of suitable RWD cars diminishes I think we'll see more FWD card in our events. (Suppose could run in Class 1 but with tyre pressure restrictions ??)

Obviously anyone planning to enter with one of these vehicles should contact the Technical Panel but I was just interested what your thoughts are.

The Edinburgh Trial has developed, unnecessarily into a Car Breaker

In the latest issue of Triple Gerald Burridge says:-

"May I propose the following motion fort debate - The Edinburgh Trial has developed , unneceessarily into a Car Breaker"

What's your opinion?

Exeter 2001 - Slippery Sam

Hi to you all

I  have just been reading through the Exeter 2001 Instructions.

Not having done the trial before I do not understand why Class 5 haven't got a restart on Slippery Sam.

Can anyone shed any light on to this?

Take care & Merry Christmas

Mark
