Roger Pole

It is with great regret that I have to anounce the death of Roger Pole, who passed away on Monday afternoon.   Roger had been ill since Christmas with a brain tumour that defied treatment.    His passing was peaceful, and I sure the whole trials community will wish to pass their condolences to his family.    I will post details of the arrangements here once they are confimed.

I for one shall miss him.

  1. Those of us at the ACTC Council Meeting on Sunday were aware that Roger might have only days to live, but Simon's announcement is still a shock. I, for one, have very fond memories of Roger's smiling face at many, many, events over the years and his endless enthusiasm for classic trials. His last competition car was, of course, a Marlin and this lives on in the capable hands of Mal Allen. Roger will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.   Andrew

  3. A celebration  of the life of Roger Pole will take place at Bradford Village Hall, near Brandis Corner where he lived.  It take place at 12:00 Noon on Monday.     It is not a religious ceremony, but a humanist one.   Black is optional.      This will have been preceded by a private family interment.    Roger is to be laid to rest in the orchard of he house that he built himself.
