Jacks Hill Cafe

I received this e-mail, which will be interesting to Falcon members and those of you that live in the Hitchin, Stevenage area. For those of you that don't Jacks Hill cafe used to be on the "Bray Complex" where Neil runs his business today. As Lindy says the site has gone through many phases. Over the years Falcon has both met there and used it for the start of the March Hare Trial. If anyone would like to get in touch with Lindy let me know. - Michael

Hello there, Can I point out that after Jacks Hills Cafe at Graveley closed it later reopened as The Blue Note a typical 70s style disco, my husband and I met there when he was the DJ we have wonderful memories of the place, when the Blue Note closed it was taken over and then became the Silver Hall.  I found your site whilst looking to see if anyone had made a web site for the Blue Note and there must be plenty of us folk who still would love to be back inthe 70s out there somewhere. Anyway just a bit of trivia for you.

Kindest Regards Lindy Fleetwood

  2. Alistair,   The Jacks Hill Cafe that the Edinburgh used to start from was in the A5 just north of Towcester. The other Jacks Hill Cafe was at Graveley on the old A1 between Baldock and Stevenage. In the old days there was the cafe and Sid Brays Scrap Yard.   Today there is a modern theme pub, Neil Brays Garage and MOT station and Chris Brays body shop business.   There is a trails connection as Falcon has started The March Hare from there.   Michael
