Free Tickets for Renault World Series

I know it's a bit late but free tickets are available for the Renault World Series at Silverstone on 7/8th June.  Last year it was at Donnington Park and was a tremendous weekend, marred only by the horrendous traffic queues in and out of the circuit.
Apply for your tickets on www.renaultsport.com

Marlin Speedometer -advice needed

I have a Marlin Roadster fitted with a van back axle, 14" wheels and a 1.7 'O' series.  If I fit a midget or B speedometer I expect I will need to get the instrument recalibrated.  Any advice would be gratefully received.

Ilkley Photos - Part 1

Had a great day at the Ilkley Trial on Sunday, great to meet so many friends, great weather and wonderful scenery.

I tool over 2000 photos, so sorting them out will take a while.  Unfrtunately I didn't get too many bikes, I seemed to be chasing the trial all day, and never quite caught up.  However so far there are some photos I took in Otley, and some of those at Hey Slack.  Of particular note is the sequence of Robert Hodgkinson and David Chilton, loosing their passenger door, and running over it, and the shot of Simon Woodall failing his driving test!

Enjoy

Other photos will follow shortly.

Suitability of Vehicle

I'm thinking of starting with the production trials and maybe Class O, the vehicle I have in mind is a Jago Jeep. Could anyone help with what refinements would be required, and would this be a suitable vehicle to move upto Classic trials in the future. Also could anyone let me know what route I need to take to join my local club in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

Welcome Graham406 = Graham Powick

Graham has watched several classic trials events and marshalled the hill at the end of Greenway Lane this year.

Welcome John Morgan

John is "interested in starting classic trials and was wondering if I could use a mini moke?"

I guess the answer to a Mini Moke is ys why not and I reckon it would be in Class 1. However, we don't see Mini's out on a regular basis as ground clearance is an issue on many of todays sections.

Having said that there were a couple taking part in last years Ilkley and you could have a lot of fun using one in Class 0 on an MCC event.

Lands End 1924 HJ Aldington 1500 GN

H J Aldington was driving car number 323, a 1500 GN in the Land’s End April 18/19th 1924.

Dad is wondering if anyone has any other information, Reg No. or photograph of the car.

The GN marque was pretty much on its last legs and Fraser Nash started production in 1924. There were a few cars made with water cooled Anzani engines rather than the normal v-twins. Was this one?
