Potential buyers should be aware that the cycle wings shown are NOT legal for Class 7 in one day events. Only a Marlin Sportster has cycle wings, The Class 7 spec held by ACTC is for a Marlin Roadster.
I have the original long wings as per the Marlin spec to go with the car when sold
ReplyDeleteI have the original long wings that go with the car. Also there are others around with cycle wing as the long wing have been damaged in an accidents & they cannot be got any more so this should be taken into consideration or should the cars be not trialed any more . There must be other thing that have to be changed on other vehicles as the cannot be found so alterations have to move on.
ReplyDeleteDave. I think you have a valid point about rules moving on. The Vincent Brooklands and MPH models are in essence the same car except that one has cycle wings. Also bear in mind what many people still do not realise, that under FIA and MSA rules you must receive "fair and equitable" treatment. If it is OK for Vincent kit cars to have that option then it is arguably fair to let Marlin kit cars have the same option.
ReplyDeleteI know of another Marlin with cycle wings that had to be fitted as a motor bike hit it damaging the long wing .As I said should this car now move into class 8 or not trialed ever again .As I read it the silhouette must not change nothing said about the plan view . All this & all I want is to sell a car any one want a Marlin with optional long wings wings
