AT LAST!!! I've just managed to attach half a dozen more photos to the Northern Trial file. I must have tried 10 times. Thanks for the advice, it finally sank in.
If you view the piccies and know the competitors, add a title.
I have added my surname to my title, but it seems a little formal.
Whoops!! forgot to say, the last piccie is a certain Grotty Chummy about to perform a back somersault.
ReplyDeleteHi Mal,I knew you were Mal Allen and I guess others did as well. For the casual approach set your Nickname as Mal and then put "My name is Mal Allen" in "about myself". That way your posts will appear as Mal but members (and only members) will be able to go into Member List and see your full name.Regarding Barry Carke. Anyone know status of man and car?Michael
ReplyDeleteMichael Both car and crew survived relatively unscathed. As Barry's passenger I had a first hand view of what could have been a rather nasty end to a good trial. The section involved entering a bomb hole and trying to exit over what looked like a near vertical lip. Interestingly the picture makes the exit look quite mild. The car slid of the lip rotated and we ended up sat on the spare wheels with the car vertical above us, at which point the guys standing on the top of the bank grabed the windscreen and stopped the car falling back down until we had been safely pulled out. Thanks guys! Apart from being covered in oil from the gearbox we both were completly undamaged. After getting the car back on its wheels, another team effort from marshals competitors and spectators, Barry checked that the car was OK and we went on to finish the event. On balance I dont think it was a very sensible or safe section, and I hope the club never uses it in the same way again.
