BMC 10cwt diff in

While looking at the internals of various diffs in  attempt to find better cwp ratio for the Sierra diff unit fitted to my SS1(so far an unsuccessful so any info appreciated), I discovered that the star wheels and centre pin of Sierra diff appear to be identical in size, and mesh nicely with, to those fitted in the BMC 10cwt diff.

This info may be useful to any Marlineers out there!!

Regards,
Keith

  1. I hope I have captured most of the current general knowledge about 10cwt BMC axles in the Technical Topics pages of the Marlins in Trials section of my website at: http://marlins.wheelspin.org.uk   If any of the information is incorrect, or anyone is prepared to share their specific knowledge with the rest of the trials world, please let me know by e-mail. I assume that the Sierra diff may be similar to, or even identical to, the Transit van diff.   Andrew

  2. Thanks for your reply Andrew. Have compared Sierra diff internals to the single-wheel axle diff unit (i.e. the one that can be used in the BMC axle) and they are similar except the Sierra has a pinion shaft approx 1" longer so quite difficult to interchange. The twin-wheel Transit or P100 axles are other possibilities but haven't been able to look at in detail yet.   Keith
