Can any one help? A group of trials supporters make there annual pilgramage to the summit of Burledge to watch a certain class 4 Beatle exit the top. Unfortunatly despite waiting for severall hours the prized sighting was not made even though they were equipped with powerfull telescopic lenses trained down the section. To help it was rumored the said competitor might had changed into a class 6 car.
Any one who can help please FWD replies to-

Ford Pinto Engine Wanted
Any one got a Ford Pinto engine & gearbox for sail . It is required to fit into a Marlin the Exhaust need to be on the drivers side or a lot of rebuilding will be needed. A gearbox to fit would be good also . Also a prop shaft as this would need to be shortened to fit the marlin. I am in the Plymouth Area so The other end of the country would be no good unless th price was right.

ebay scam
I don't know if anyone else has experience of this, but if you are selling on ebay be careful.
I advertised some alloy wheels and was surprised and delighted to get a winning bid of £256. It was from a character called James Bishop. He suggested that he would like to pay me by a 'client' of his giving me a bankers draft for £2500. When it had cleared my bank I would send him the wheels and the excess money. Suspecting that something was not quite right with this I emailed him to say I wouldn't accept this means of payment. There followed a series of bizare emails from him including an offer of a further £50 for my trouble in processing this payment. I continued to decline this suggestion. I then noticed that he was no longer registered with ebay and therefore terminated the sale. I emailed him with this news. Despite this I had an email from a transport company in Brussels requesting my address for collection of the wheels. Then a Northern Rock bankers draft for £2500 arrived. Even to my eyes this was a poor forgery, this was confirmed when I took it to Northern Rock. They seem to be aware of a number of such forgeries with the same signatures and serial number. That evening my phone rang and who should it be but James Bishop. The cheek of the man. What can happen is that the bank will accept the draft and credit your account straight away. It may take several weeks before they inform you it's forged and that you have lost your money.
So if you sell anything on ebay only accept payment for the exact amount.

Up keep of sections
I'm C.o.C for the Edinburgh again & like a lot of other trials, our sections suffer from usage by the weekend bikers & 4x4 guys. Like the Exeter Trial we will have to have at least 1working party, to repair the damage coursed by the rain & weekenders. So please help all CoC s when they ask for help to try & keep the hills you all say you like to have a go at. Remember that we can not do all the work ourselfs. I will be calling in 2005.

Do a search on "KRB Special" or "VW Classic Trials Car" the item number is 4502968587.

Hardy Trial cancelled!
I've just spotted this on the ACTC website at http://www.actc.org.uk/news.htm
What a shame, but I know just how the organisers must feel.

Tarka trial
Did the Tarka last Sunday - another "first" for me although not in class I hasten to add! I thought it was a good trial and couldn't understand the low number of entries. It was very well organised and the route marking was so good that the route card was almost unnecessary. The organisers did a great job, are obviously sensitive to the low numbers and keen to get feedback to improve things next year. I have since spoken to various people and it is clear that some stayed away to get a break after three consecutive weeks. Others thought that it has a reputation of being a bit "tame" - I don't think that the entrants last week would go with that.
My only criticism would be that four special tests was a bit excessive and it seems that others said the same - something that the organisers had clearly taken on board by the end of the day.
Hopefully it will be better attended next year.
