The new MCC site is looking wicked Andrew! I was asked about spectating on the Exeter and instead of having to copy details from the programme, I could just give the URL for the "Where to Spectate" web page - excellent! For those that haven't ventured there, go see: http://www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk/events/exeter_spectate.htm Brian
The Provisional Results are now available on the MCC website at http://www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk/events/exeter_2005_intro.htm Please note that there are changes - to the Class B and Class 2 Awards - from the printed and published results which you will be receiving shortly. Andrew
If Giles is referring to the ones given at Waterloo then I think this is an example of the incredible confusion resulting from the delays and I have already alerted Gerry Woolcott to this. We, along with many others, are shown as # because we were instructed to miss the section to clear the delays whereas, I think, we should have been given a baulk if they intended to re-open the section later. I've also noticed at least one competitor with an M - did he or didn't he? Andrew
Thanks Andrew, I was referring to Waterloo. So effectively it was cancelled for all classes I guess then, but maybe you still got penalised for not passing by. Did you actually go to the foot of the section and up the escape road, or were you told before going down there?
Giles. We got into the queue for the section, waited ages, then were told to take the escape road. We haven't been penalised but I'm just slightly surprised to see that the section hasn't been cancelled for all. Andrew
I was spectating at the top of Simms this year and having just read the provisional results I predict that Gerry's phone will be red hot this week with calls from competitors who failed pointing out that they have been inadvertantly scored as clean, especially since at least three of them emerged from the escape road on the end of the tow rope........
There is a double page write up (by Paul Lawrence) in the Feb issue of Motor Sport. Pictures of Jonathan Ellwood, John Bennett, Jonathan Elliott, Greg warren, John Wilton, Roger Bricknell and groups of Marlins and MG's Michael
Simon and Group, Smithy has been around on the group for three years, before we implemented/tightened up on the real names rule. This post is of course an example of why we need the real names rule. I think its fair enough to say what you think but you must be prepared to put your name to it. These days I only accept members who use their real name as their nickname or declare their real name. Michael
Could help Marshall at the Cirencester start if its any help, my self and
ReplyDeletemy brother if it helps. ALAN MOODY

ReplyDeleteSome interesting results! Anyone know what a non-counting stop is given for?

ReplyDeletePS - I don't actually think this confusion affects the results in the car classes at all.
