Thanks

Just a quick note to say thanks to all who managed to get me a navigator for the Lands End after the guy who was going to be doing it was called to work that weekend.
I received a phone call before I even realised that the request had gone public.
Hope to see many of you somewhere on the L.E.

Trialsmans Breakfast

Michael
Your new link to Transport cafe's is interesting but of limited use to those of us who seldom stray from home.  I do think, however, we should start a thread on the best Trialsmans Breakfasts.  My vote would be for the 'Full English' at Truck Stop at North Petherton on the forthcoming Lands End Trial. For quality, choice and value I think it would be hard to find better .

Different Class 8 Car For Sale

Have a look at:-
http://www.motorsportads.co.uk/classic-historic-not-race/8208.html
This car competed in the Ilkley Trial last summer, so it is a good runner.
Don't be put off by the asking price, as I know that this guy picked the car up at Bonhams in November for £2,275   (check it out at http://www.motorbase.com/auction/by-id/1146782417/)   Just the thing for someone who like their Classic Trials to be "Classic".

Anyone want to be a sidecar passenger for the Land's End?

Sarah has damaged a ligament and can't do the Land's End so I need a passenger urgently! I need someone who can navigate preferably, and who has an ACU number. Not on the Ariel this time but a Honda/WASP
with lots more suspension.

I'm starting from Michaelwood services and will be riding back on Easter Sunday. Get in touch asap and I'll see if I can organise accommodation.

100E Misfire

My Dellow has a 100e with Aquaplane head and Shorrock blower and i am plagued by a misfire under load when the engine is hot. failed to get off the line at the MG Spring trial.
Engine strts cold Ok and accelerated with no problem until hot then misfires when you really need it.
Have changed coil, condenser dist cap, plugs -tried NGK B6ES and B8ES .
Sometimes engine cuts out when giving slight acceleration from rest then will not restart until you let it cool down for 15 mins. Any ideas before the Lands End?

MG Spring Trial

Thank you to all involved in organizing yesterdays very enjoyable PCT near Ledbury.

The weather was changeable but on the hole stayed dry and warm!

Two rounds of 6 tests in the morning, and two rounds of 4 tests after lunch. Very civilized!

tyres

I am planning to do the Lands  End but need some 15 or 16 inch tyres which will grip, our tyres we currently run are worn out and we they are no longer available. firestone 560 seem popular or vredestien -but  I do not know which style of these is the best- we are running them on a Mk5 buckler.

28th February 2007

Dear Colleagues

For and on behalf of the MSA Trials Committee and BTRDA I attach a questionnaire and covering letter which is self explanatory.

Please feel free to distribute this questionnaire to competitors and officials a like.  It is important to canvas as wide an audience as possible.

The MSA Trials Committee next meets in early April and I would ask that responses be submitted to Neil Mackay by 31st March 2007.

Yours faithfully

Passenger needed.....

I am in need of a passenger/bouncer/navigator/sack of spuds for my Liege in the March Hare Trial this weekend. Can't promise any silverware, or even getting to the finish, but it'll be fun. Any takers??

Spark Plug Advice please

I am getting close to starting my newly rebuilt engine so I need to find some suitable spark plugs. It is an E93A engine with Aquaplane head and twin SUs. An old Tuning book suggests Lodge RL47 or RL49 but I don't suppose there is much chance of finding 4 of these! WWW.Sparkplugs co.uk have suggested NGK B8EGP or B9EGP which I believe may be race orientated - so what do you guys use and where do I purchase them?

Thanks    Tony
