We entered this years Windwhistle Motor Club Bovey Down Trial in our 1.6 Peugoet 205, although the scores are not yet confirmed we are fairly sure we came last! Also rather ironically the total on our scorecard was 205!

We had a great day and apart from 2 punctures, 2 dented sills and a rather dented middle exhaust box, the car survived. On the drive home the engine temperature warning light came on, we pulled over to check it, to find the back of the radiator totally covered in a layer of mud - no airflow at all! 5 minutes of careful scraping with a screwdriver and we were on our way again.
Thanks to Anne, Tim and all in the Windwhistle Motor Club for a great day.
I entered my old BMW 320 in the Windwhistle Motor Club Bovey Down Trial on Sunday and what a great day we had. My daughter Lucy and her boyfriend Nat were my bouncers and we managed to get to the top of most hills. There were 2 hills that stopped us every time (7 times in total) which meant a total score of about 73 according to Lucy. Two punctures before lunch meant a worried afternoon, but we survived, very muddy but happy and a 3rd puncture on the way home was sorted with the aid of some tyre levers and a new tube. A great day, and congrats to Tim, Anne and the team. I’ll mark it in next year’s diary ASAP. Morris Racer (Bristol)
