Bead breaker

I notice that someone is selling FIVE of these bead breakers on Ebay, not cheap at 짙69 each but useful if you are into that sort of thing. I suppose it would pay for itself in 14 tyre swaps, the YellerDutton is pretty kind to tyres but we still got through one per event in the past season. Hmmm...

LPG Conversion

Hi.  Has anyone converted a 1.7 'O' series to LPG?  Is there a problem in running LPG in trials?  Do the rules allow it?  Any information would be good and gratefully received.

WANTED - BEETLE IRS DIFF

Does anyone have an Standard IRS Beetle Diff surplus to requirements.

I am in the process of building a new diff for my sporting trials car and need certain bits out of a standard diff.

A 31-tooth crown wheel would also be helpful!!!

A MkII Escort, sans engine, possibly suitable for trials has been listed recently.
Search item No. 180266470842 or search 'Ford Escort MK2 rolling Shell' in 'Classic Cars' listing.

Why can't I copy & paste from Ebay into here?

Classical Gas Spam

Michael. Any idea why I am continuing to receive spam such as this below from someone called Tim Hellings ?

Whilst it is very kind of him to tell me when he is going on holiday - I'd much rather he did not.

Regards,   Nigel

Colway and Technic tyres

Whilst trying to track down some new 205x16 Technics for the Allard I discovered after numerous emails to various parties :-

They went into liquidation two years ago.
The moulds were sold to a company in Poland.
It may be possible through a contact to get some brought back to the UK.

Said contact has also told me that he is in touch with another Polish company that bought all the Colway moulds and plant earlier this year.
He is setting up a UK company to import these tyres and asks me if I think there will be any interest from the trials brigade ?

Fire Extinguishers

Anyone needing to buy a fire extinguisher to meet the current regulations, may be alarmed at the prices being asked in some places. However, S D Fire Alarms in Paignton (with whom I have no connection) will sell you a 2 litre AFFF Foam Spray stored pressure extinguisher, with bracket, for 짙32.78 which is including VAT AND delivery... Mine arrived by courier in 2 days. Here is a link:

Ford crossflow SU manifold & carbs for sale

As we've decided to give the Edinburgh a miss this year, I've been having a root through all the spares for the Yeller Dutton and in an attempt to clear space for more junk, I want rid of the spare manifold and carbs sat on the shelf.

A proper cast aluminium manifold for a Ford crossflow to take twin SU carbs, complete with twin 1-1/2" SUs, a slim fabricated air box and suitably "Max Power" K&N type filter.  It will take 1-3/4" SUs if you really wanted.

짙150 including postage to UK.

Our original trialling carb and manifold set-up for a 1600 crossflow.  An interesting combination of FoMoCo carb, jets, and manifold - worked very very well for PCT and pretty good on classics (nearly won the March Hare in 2007 with it) just not got outright power as the above SUs have.  £5

(On dismantling the engine when John bust it after a couple years of trialling, it was found to have big valves and a 300 cam - ie full race!  So it worked rather well considering !  Possibly on a more suitable cam, the carb would work even better)

Two chrome (!) Weller 8 spoke steel wheels 13" dia (with a barely used Grand Prix S on one of them - and something else on the other -not that I'd want to use either tyre on the road - bit old now!).  Round and true - never trialled!
Tenner for the pair if you come and get them from Keighley/Skipton/Bradford/Halifax area - can courier anywhere for addtional cost.

Otherwise Mr ScrapMan or ebay calls . . .

Ford Pop Drag Link.

First; thanks for all the positive replies to my previous message. Next Job; Panhard rod.
Any views on that bit of bent wire Ford call the drag link?
Should it be replaced with something stiffer, or would that transfer too much shock and knock out the steering box?

Welome to The Dellow Register Message Board

Unfortunately Dave Haley has had to shut down the Guest Book on The Dellow Register Site because there was so much spam. We have set up this new section here on Classical Gas for Dellow related issues. While anyone can view the posts you will need to be a member of Classical Gas to post messages. Ford Pop; Front axle Panhard Rod

My Class 8 Ford Pop Special has standard front axle and transverse leaf spring. Should I fit a Panhard rod to the front axle, will it improve steering and vehicle stability ?
