Kyrle Video on the net

Hi everyone,

I have put a short Video on the net. It's called murray.avi and it can be found on www.idrive.com

Log on as "classicalgas" password is "trials"

There are a couple of other bits I put there just to try this idrive concept. Anyway, let me know how you get on. You can use this idrive to upload stuff for others to download.

Why not get an idrive of your own if you like it! If you do let us know so we can al share files with you.

Michael

  1. Michael,I have tried downloading the video but am then unable to run the avi file on my computer. A colleague at work (on our technical support helpdesk) has tried opening the file under a different viewer but when it runs there are no images and no sound. Is this just me? Should I be downloading further software first?Regards,Giles

  2. Giles,Just tried to open murray.avi on the day jobs machine and I too am having problems. I get the sound OK in both Windows Media player and Real Player but no video. I get a message "Unable to download an appropriate decompressor. (Error=80040200)".The mystery is that I didn't compress the file! Anyway I will try and work it all out.Meanwhile Community members are free to upload/download to the classicalgas idrive. However, just remember this is "open" without any protection.Michael

  3. Hi,Checked again. murray.avi works fine on my machine at home under '98 but I get sound only, and the above error message, on the day jobs notebook which also runs '98. I have updated to the latest versions on Direct X and Windows Media Player and it makes no difference! I will work on this and hopefully soleve the problem but it mat take time!Michael

  4. Hi again fans,Well it's taken a while but the ISDN line here at the day job has been fully loaded while I searched the NET to find the problem. I captured the Video on my ATI board at home and lo and behold the videos it produces can only be read by another ATI graphics system.I found the fix at http://support.atitech.ca/infobase/2366.html and I will try to sort things when I get home. Time permitting. If you have an ATI card already you may in fact be able to see Murray fail Snompers already!!! He may win but he doesn't always get to the top of the sections!!!Michael
