BBC Inside Out Bobble hat v 4x4

I am not sure if anybody saw this.

I very baised view. Set in the Yorkshire dales. Basically laying the blame for damage to Green Lanes at the feet of the 4X4 and Motorbike users. The main interviewee quickly acknowledged the fact that the main damage was farmers in 4X4 tractors and walkers caused just as much damaged on roads were no mechaised transport went. A group of bikers pointed out the fact that vehicles were only allowed of 5% of all unmade roads. They even manged to trap a couple of mountain bikers into giving the motorised user a slagging. While is traffic was only on the lane it was stated that the whole field was ruined.

Clever stuff and very baised. How many week before 19th March and DEFRA wasn't mentioned at all

Please follow the link as the Beeb have put up a "Have your say".

regards
Mark

Mk1 Escort rear springs can anyone help

I have recently bought two supposedly heavy duty CD8 rallying springs for my Mk1 Escort ,which are being sent straight back as they are hopeless. Can anyone give me some advice on either buying some new springs or perhaps a contact to have my old springs rolled and set as they are looking a bit flat now. Any help would be much appreciated. Simon Groves.

Wheelspin E-News - 20 February 2004

A large number of you will already have received this message directly. This
is my first attempt to see if I can use the group e-mail address to send
future Newsletters straight to the Message Board. I hope it works.

This is the first 'issue' of an experimental e-mail newsletter service for
classic trials enthusiasts brought straight to your inbox by Andrew Brown,
the author of www.wheelspin.org.uk

I intend to combine all my existing e-mail circulation lists into one and
use this e-mail newsletter as the only notification of news or website
updates, so please don't unsubscribe immediately just because this first
'issue' doesn't include anything of interest to you, the next one might!

THE CURRENT 'THREAT TO MOTOR SPORT'
This news item will run-and-run as we get closer to the 19th March deadline
for responses to the DEFRA Consultation Document. Information and advice is
now available from lots of sources but all the ones most relevant to classic
trialling are covered by the latest Rights of Way News on Andrew Brown's
website:
http://www.knightlybrown.net/sectionbegins/rights/sbrightsnews.htm
or if you want to know what the opposition is up to, see:
http://www.ramblers.org.uk/campaigns/footpaths/Ridgeway1.htm
and look at the 'response to off roaders document'.

EVENTS - PAST AND FUTURE

COTSWOLD CLOUDS TRIAL - 1st February 2004
Although the route of this year's Clouds was very similar to previous years,
the conditions most certainly were not with Ham Mill and Mackhouse in
'killer' condition whereas the two sections in Highwood, and both the Bull
Banks sections, collected far fewer failures than normal. You can read
Michael Leete's report at:
http://www.classictrials.co.uk/Gas04032.htm
or go straight to the Results at:

MURRAY'S MARCH HARE CLASSIC TRIAL - 7th March 2004
The closing date for entries to this rare annual chance to compete in a Home
Counties classic is getting close. You can find all you need to know at:
http://www.marchhare.info/index2.html

FELL SIDE AUTO CLUB'S NORTHERN TRIAL - 27th March 2004
Fell Side's ACTC Championship event is back on a Saturday this year in the
hope that more Southerners will travel up the M6 to discover that classic
trialling really does exist north of the Peak District. The closing date for
entries is 13th March 2004 and you can find more information at:
http://www.fsac.flyer.co.uk/

Transit in a dellow

Those of you who know me will not be surprised to see what I am trying to do. I have infomation on using a transit diff with the escort crown wheel and pinion. I have details of what mods are required etc .However i am not 100% which transit diff is used. I believe it comes out of the back of the axle, and is from the early SWB transit. Can anybody help with more detail or parts?

Has anybody got a fack diff for sale?

Transit diff in a Dellow

Those of you who know me will not be surprised to hear that I am looking for an alternative to the standard ford diff. The well tested fack diff are not avaliable at present. ( does anybody have one for sale? ) So i am building up infomation on splicing the ford transit diff to the crown wheel and pinion of the escort.I have detailed infomation on the work that is required. However can anybody tell me which transit diff is required? Has anybody got the correct parts for sale?

Sits Vac

A vacancy has arised within the ACTC heirachy for the Technical Officer to replace Simon Robson.    The job entails the maintaining of the Class 7 Spec Sheets and the approved tyre list.   The tyre list is currently delegated by Simon R to Murray MacDonald, and I'm sure he will continue to do that task but it remains the responsibility of the Technical Officer.    The maintenance of the Class 7 Spec sheets involves handling requests for the addition of new "kit" cars, getting the required information from manufacturers and Owners and producing the spec sheet.
The role requires the attendance at two ACTC council meetings in May & September, near Bristol, and involvement in many discussions in cyberspace on the subject of general technical regulations.   The new candidate would be elected at the May meeting for a summer handover to start in earnest in September.
Volunteers should e-mail me directly or call to discuss details on 01584-881348 (daytime)..

Imp Engine

I have a Hillman Imp engine sitting in my workshop looking for a new home. It apparently came out of a motorbike! originally. I took it because I dont like to see anything potentially useful going to waste. It has 7010030 cast into the block and 7010031 on the head and AA stamped on two lugs on the block. Unfortunately it appears to be seized as I cannot turn it with a socket on the bottom pulley but, as it is a full engine, it may have useful parts for someone. It will go to the scrap yard unless someone wants it FREE. Give me a call on 01228 530555.
Myke Pocock.

MG Midget

There is a very old and poorly lime green Midget in my little village of Sutton (Ely, Cambs). It could be restored but probably a breaker. The owner would definately take 짙50 or even less . Lots of good bits on it
