Whilst enjoying the Ilkley I was intrigued by the 'golf balls' on the top of one of the hills and also the armed police guard along one of the roads near 'Blubberhouses' a look at the OS map made me realise that they are one and the same place and a search of the 'net was very revealing, curiouser and curiouser as Alice said. Although we've passed it many times, it's probably the first time in daylight, rather than at high speed in a rally car - we had a conversation about the houses right outside it - do you live there because the local crime rate should be just about zero . . . or because if the worst comes to the worst, it must be pretty high up someones target list and it'll be a quick exit . . .?
