Orange Mk1 towing MG

I think I saw what looked to be an Orange Mk1 Escort towing a prewar MG going north on the M1 around Chesterfield on Monday 18th around 4pm.

I only got a glimpse as I was heading south to home.

I have it in my mind that it was Dave Miller's Escort with Bill's Bennets J2 on a trailer - or am I imagining it!!

cheers
Mark

  1. Think it would have been John Bell. He used to trial the Escort didnt he?

  2. That certainly was John Bell and the MG is a TB (or so says the Exmoor C entry list). He must have been going very slowly because he left Minehead Rugby Club after the event at about 5pm.
By the way did you notice the names on the rear mudguards? One side read 'Gerry Atric' and the other 'Arthur Itis'!
