Exeter 2006

Power of the internet???

Just seeing if the internet is as powerful as claimed...

I am badly in need of a passenger for the Clee Hills.  Its the Camel Vale dinner the Friday before so that's removed a few possibilities.  My boys are both committed rugby - so there goes another chance.  My other (and far better) half wouldn't go in a trials car for all the tea in China and India.

So I'm a bit stuck.  If anyone out there fancies a day on a top trial in a class 4 Beetle, please do give me a ring on 07879 454268 or e mail me on this address.

Vintage/Classic car Trials

Hi all
Advise greatfully recieved!
I have a 1929 Morris Minor Tourer, which is kept as it left the factory (you need to, to run in Light car events in the vscc). Trouble is the vscc only run 1 light car trial a year. They do run 5 other trials but these are a bit tough on a 20bhp car, as they are designed around specials and very poweful vintage cars (you probably know about the GNs and Nash's that are chain driven to a solid back axle, and some have about 150 bhp as well!)

So i was wondering, are there any other suitable trials out there for my type of vehicle?

20 bhp sounds very poor, but with it's light weight, short wheelbase and very good ground clearance, these Minors and the similiar Austin 7 Chummies can worry themselves up some interesting sections

By the way, the light car vscc trial is held on 2/4/06 near Llandrindod Wells, if anyone has a pre 1931 car with modest weight & power!

My Exeter Trial

I had a really enjoyable Exeter passengering for Simon Groves in his Escort. I liked the re-introduction of Meerhay, There seemed plenty of grip on Normans Hump and Clinton and we flew up both although I don't think it was so easy for the re-starters. Don't know if it was my imagination but Tillerton didn't seem so rough this year.

We had eports that the Cornich Escort drivers running at the front of the field had all climbd Simms so there was no way Simon was going to fail and we flew up. There was quite a long delay at Tipley, caused by almost all the 7 and 8's failing the restart. We climbed all the hills and claimed a gold. Simon hadn't planned to do the lands end but I think he will change his mind now!

I thought it was a good and well balanced event. It didn't seem as rough as usual but then I wasn't in my car! How was your Exeter Trial?
