"Off-roaders rev up for land takeover"

-according to the Sunday Times "..landowners fear that the government's Countryside and Rights of Way Bill, aimed at opening opening up bridleways and forest paths to ramblers, will instead serve as an invitation to "jeep Joyriders" to ride roughshod over nature spots".
Apparently "four-wheel-drive enthusiasts are gearing up to take advantage of new legislation that could open up hundreds of miles of woodland paths to their vehicles"

Well blow me down, and there I was thinking that we were in fact facing the withdrawal of existing tracks!!

Best quote is from the chairman of GLEAM (Green Lanes Environmental Action Movement) who asks "What enjoyment do people get by going along a muddy track at night in pouring rain?"

Oh dear, oh dear, what chance do we stand?
