Ford accidentally design Trials Special SHOCK

Ford appears to be secretly developing a Classic Trials special hopefully without the intent of  bringing manufacturer domination to our sport.   Check out this new Spaceframe machine with rear mounted Ka engine at

Hopefully the seven grand price icket will put most people off!

  1. ... ah yes, but assuming someone can make it road-legal, what Class will it run in?   Class 1 if sections are attempted in reverse? Class 5 because it's a rear wheel drive (although not front-engined) production sports Ka? Class 6 because it's a production rear engined Ka over 1300cc? Class 7 because (a) it's a kit-Ka, or (b) because it's a production Ka modified beyond permitted limits? Class 8 because we can't think of anything else?   ... and I can't think of a reason to put it in Classes 2, 3 or 4.   Andrew

  2. I wouldn't worry about what class it would go in as no doubt someone will want to ban it from our sport before it even appears because:   1 It's a rally car 2 It looks suspiciously like a cross between a Buggy and a Fugitive  3 It's modern, reasonably well conceived and well engineered 4 Someone might want to tow it to an event 5 It looks like fun...
