I have just seen on sky news the foot and mouth outbreak on a farm in surrey.Lets hope this is dealt with better than in 2001 otherwise the previous thread about passengers needing licenses and/or membership cards could be irrelevant for a while.I am very lucky to have a reliable regular passenger but can relate to and sympathise with those turning up to events looking for passengers in order to get a run. Long may it continue! Nick
looks like I'm gona need a diet, lest I get detained for the illegal movement of pork ?
ReplyDeleteseems like there is a 'link' between the outbreak and research and manufacturing facilities at nearby Pirbright? my only comment, misplaced or otherwise, is 'this is what you get by getting the private sector involved in government business.' seeing as a private company that 'manufactures' F&M vaccine 'shares' the site with the government research facility? so...are we reaping the whirlwind of government 'cost-cutting' policies?
ReplyDeleteThe flooding seems to have the finger being pointed at it as an aside.
ReplyDeleteOn the radio news this morning was a Surrey farmer and he mentioned people still walking through fields where his cattle and sheep were grazing, through middle of the sheep, apparently when asked why got the reply "we have the right to roam"
I wonder which group of people enjoying the countryside they were?
