Isolation Switchs

Hello

Could somebody give us some advice at minehead motor club, do we need isolation switchs for the exeter trial in january?

Thanks steven

  1. Not a requirement as far as I am aware - I have got a simple one in the earth strap, but I am not sure if it would stop a running engine as the alternator would keep it running.
I just turn it off for convenience when working on the car to ensure everything is isolated.

The regs require the earth strap to be identified by being marked yellow - a roll of yellow tape does the job

  2. Thanks for that thought i was going mad, i havent read it anywhere, its just the old people thinking they no best lol,

I think iv found why they think that tho they have been reading car trials formula section.

It dosent affect me anyway cause iv got a switch, nice to no it can be switched off quickly in case of fire or something.

    Thank you steven
