  1. I see from the regs that I no longer need to be a member of the MCC as I can use my VSCC membership to enter the Exeter. Is this going to be the case on all MCC events?

  2. This is an experiment for 2008.   If it results in additional entries, in sufficient numbers to off set the financial loss of any dual member who drops their MCC membership, it will continue.   If not, it won't.    And don't forget that if your MCC memebrship lapses, there will be a joining fee to pay over and above your normal renewal fees if you rejoin later.

  3. How much is the rejoining fee currently?

  4. "Class ‘O’ is also suitable for older machines or competitors."   Hello there.   Where might the regulations for tyre pressures be found? I'm wondering how low one can go with tubeless tyres before they come off the rims. For my Jeep, unfortunately, not being in ruddy olde England...  ...but you guys would know!   Thanks.   Doug.

  5. Hi Doug,   In the old days when I used my daily driver Mini for rallying, autotests and trials I used to go down to 12 psi on tubeless tyres for trials. A few years ago some of the Escort drivers went to tubeless and so did Neil Bray in his Skoda. They would sometimes go down to 6 psi or so. However, they would glue the tyres to the rims. I think it all depends on if you are going to go round corners!   Michael

  6. are we talking jago type jeep or yank either way go to your tyre fitter and get tubes plus a couple of spares ,tyre pressures may or may not be set by the SSR,s but if you insist on tubeless 12 lbs is as low as i would risk ,slighty higher on a stoney section

  9. Sorry folks but the Entry List has been temporarily removed from the MCC website as the running order was incorrect. A new list, with the correct running order, should be available within the next few days.   Andrew

  10. Its a pity the list of triple contenders are incomplete. I'm in the running ,but not listed as being one. I think there are a couple more not listed.

  11. Surely you're not a triple contender because you haven't entered.   I looked down the entry list for the Exeter and I couldn't find anyone called "Dangerous889" and this is after all a "real names" forum so you must have entered under that name.

  12. Dangerous 889 is David (BMW Blower) Turner. There is a key to the real names of all the members who have joined in the last couple of years here Membership List - Key to Nicknames Also Dave has given some info about himself at Our Members - Add your own Info Here    I would love to have rigidly enforced the "real name" as your "nickname" rule but I have found that impossible as some people use an existing Microsoft identity, some find their name is already in use, and some just don't read the rules before sign up. In theory a member can change their nickname to their real name but in practice its very, very difficult. I think the present system is a reasonable compromise. It would be best if everyone signed their posts but if they don't and there is a hint of a query then I will post their real name.   Personally I think this message board works quite well. The "real names" rule, even compromised as it is, prevents people using it to slag off other people or clubs hiding behind a false identity. Although this site is a private enterprise effort there is an "informal board of non-executive directors" to keep the management in check".   Good to have the opportunity to re-clarify how this works.   Michael

  14. Being an Exeter 'virgin' I'm not sure of the means of knowing which route to take. Is there a routecard like the Edinburgh and Kyrle etc? It must run to many pages to cover 350 miles. Do I need OS maps as well? I already have a GPS and a road map book. See you all there. John

  15. The Exeter routecard is a masterpiece and a mine of useful information.   You should not need anything else.  Certainly not the maps, they would just get soggy in the rain.  Your road atlas will help you get home afterwards, and your GPS will probably send you back along the sections the wrong way!

  16. Hi John - You should have received your route card. control card. numbers etc a few weeks ago. Hasn't it come?

  17. Ah, yes, apparently the info went to the driver as it was Brian who entered and I hadn't asked him about it. Doohh. Thanks anyway, John
