im looking for some 185 x 15 tyres for my baja trials car. Pref matador and they dont need to be perfet they will be just for spares so if anyone has any there geting rid of please email liam.raffo@hotmail.co.uk
Matador MP300s - the only Matador tyre on the ACTC "White List" - are only available in 185x14 and 195x14 sizes (according to the Matador website) I'm afraid, but I wouldn't have thought they were the best tyre for the Edinburgh anyway?? Andrew
yeh i think there the ones i got off simon woodall but mine are def 15's, unless they dont make them anymore? anyway i need some just so i have a couple of spares- i didnt no there was only one type of matador tyre allowed! thanks
I gave Liam a couple of my "cast offs" to help get him started. Now he just needs someone else to "give" him two more for the spare wheel rack. Please help a newcomer get started.
Matador MP300 185-80x15 tyres are on some eastern european www sites. They appear to be van tyres, as the only words I can understand are, Ford Transit, van, and 8pr(8ply tyre).
I tried hard to get some 185 x 15 Matador tyres last year and eventually got an email from Matador's British MD. They are not made anymore. Does anyone know of another suitable tyre? The only 15 that I can come up with is the Firestone F560 in 165 or the Semperit in 165.
Nexen SB802 are not on the latest ACTC Tyre list as published on the ACTC website (just a warning!). Firestone F560, and various types of Semperit, are on the list. Andrew.
They were approved at the last AGM. The list obviously has not been updated yet. These tyres have had a long history of name changes: Woosung SB802 Jupiter SB802 Nexen SB802
the reason i got the 185's is because thats what was going and its literally just for the spare wheel rack to get me going! Its my first trial so tyres arent on my priority list as im struggling to get the car finished! So if anybody knows where i can get some castoff 185's that would be great! thanks for the help
Les is correct the Nexen SB802 was approved at the last ACTC council meeting when we agreed that tyres with a "normal road tread" could be used even if M&S marked. I will be including it on the list at the next update, probably next week. Pete Hart
does this apply to the MCC because i have 4 brand new tyres that are a normal road tread but have m/s on the side which when i brought them i didnt realise! they are Fate O- got a pic but carnt upload thanks

ReplyDeleteLiam - why do you need 185 section? Why not 165? Michael

ReplyDeleteAnother alternative is the Nexen SB802 in 165. They are quite soft
ReplyDeleterubber and have a fairly aggressive tread for an ACTC legal tyre.
