Could anybody tell me what car might have 14" steel wheels with a 4 stud,
4 1/4" (108mm) pcd with zero offset and 5J - 6J rim, please?
Even better, has anyone got a set of 5 or 6 laying around, that they may wish to part with for some drinking vouchers?
Thanks!
Richard N
Hi Richard - Peugeot wheels have the same 4 1/4 PCD as your Ford axle. Try a Peugeot Space savr if the width is OK. - Michael
ReplyDeleteHi Richard, Sierra wheels are 14" and not too wide - crap, front wheel drive (even tho the sierra is RWD) offset tho - so you need spacers. If your Melos is anything like the Phaeton S3/4, you'll need spacers, or a wider back axle to get them clear of the chassis. We had an atlas of some description in the Phaeton, but I think Cortina, Capri axles are wider the the english, which might get them clear. I did wonder about simply chopping the chassis and moving the side rails inboard around the rear wheels. Luckily for us, there is a garage local who seems intent on saving the sierra for the nations - must have 20/30 of the things lying around - but a bit far for you. We've gone down to 165 tyres on them, stayed up okay, but the rim is a little more vunerable to damage as it is more exposed. Bri
ReplyDeletePeugeot steel wheels will fit but I think you will need spacers as they are off fwd cars; they come in various widths including 6". Peugeot spacesavers are 15" and only 3.5" wide.
ReplyDeleteI've done a bit of Googling and found a chart that might be of use to others searching for wheel spec's! For me, it looks like Pug 306 are favourite! http://www.carlsalter.com/wheel_fitments.html Richard N
ReplyDeleteHi Richard The peugeot/citroen group 6J x 14s are the easiest and cheapest to source and come from almost anything in the two marques model ranges, although you will probably need a small wheel spacer. They are fine for the 165 - 185 tyre sizes you will probably want to use. Avoid 15" though, as this will put you in class 8!
